Library

Children can check out as many books as they need. Children can return books and check out new ones each school day. Many children in kindergarten and first grades make the library their first stop each school day. We have set the following guidelines:

• Pre-K  - 1 book, Kinder – 1 book or magazine, 1^st – 2^nd  graders – 2 items, 3^rd – 5^th graders – 3 items.
• Children are never denied checkout privileges if a book is needed for an assignment.
• Books are checked out for 2 weeks, but books may be renewed for additional time.
• Students in grades K – 5 may check out magazines for 1 week.
• Parents may use the library to check out books for their children. 

• Children are expected to return books on time.
•  If a book is more than 4 weeks overdue it will be marked as lost, and a fine assigned to the student’s account. Student will be blocked from further checkout privileges until the fine is satisfied (book returned, replaced, or fine paid).

• We collect money for damaged books at the time the damage occurs.
• Caution: Most damage to books is caused by water, pets, and younger family members.
